National Field Sales Representative

Location: Montreal, Quebec

We are looking for a motivated sales professional who wants to join a dynamic team in a growing market. The National Field Sales Representative will support the achievement of the sales strategy and activities to Canadian Utilities with a focus on sales of Distribution and Transmission hardware products. This individual will support and implement all customer programs that revolve around pricing, revenue, growth, profitability, design and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain existing business and develop new accounts.
  • Provides training and joint calls with Manufacturing Rep Agencies and authorized PLP Distributors.
  • Provides technical sales support to Utility Standards Teams & Engineering firms with the goal of achieving Standards compliance on Distribution and Transmission hardware products.
  • Assists in identifying projects in assigned market to allow PLP to gain an early spec position; makes product recommendations to customers (bill of materials).
  • Coordinates customer RFP packages:
    • Works with Engineering Team to select products
    • Provides support documentation (technical and commercial)
  • Educate customers, Distributors and Rep’s on selected Transmission & Distribution products.
  • Coordinates routine and effective sales calls on the identified buying influencers.
  • Provides input to the development team on growth opportunities of new products.
  • Works closely with the engineering and management team to:
    • Prepare sales analysis, forecasts, promotional planning, reporting;
    • Develop and maintain customer relationship management (CRM) databases;
    • Adapt technical/commercial literature to specific market needs.
  • Meet and exceed annual profit plan objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Engineering degree or Technologist Diploma, Marketing or related field of study and/or direct industry experience.
  • Demonstrated successful sales track record.
  • Proficient in both English and French.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time within Canada.
  • Able to interact with all levels of management.
